HUSQVARNA RACING TEAM'S WATERS AND WILLS PRIMED FOR PROMX 2022

Following a productive pre-season, Husqvarna Racing Team pairing Todd Waters and Dylan Wills are primed to commence battle in the 2022 Australian ProMX Championship from this Sunday, 27 March, at Wonthaggi.

Waters and Husqvarna stood atop the national MX1 podium in 2019 and now, three seasons later, he’s just as motivated and prepared to repeat that performance this year.

The Queensland-based Waters is undertaking double-duty across both the ProMX and Australian Off-Road Championship (AORC) once again this year and has already impressed many with his searing motocross pace at the state level.

Waters, who will pilot a Husqvarna Racing Team FC 450 in the MX1 ranks of ProMX in 2022, finished with encouraging 3-2 results in E2 at the weekend's AORC rounds in Cherrabah, QLD, and has since swiftly turned his attention to the motocross opener in VIC.

Todd Waters: "I’m feeling really good, both physically and mentally. We’ve won some pre-season races, so we’re in a good place right now. I'm feeling very comfortable on the FC 450 and I’ve been with Husqvarna for a number of years now, so we had a great base setting that we could try and improve even further over the off-season. I’m just excited for the gates to drop at round one and I’m ready for a hell of a year against some good competition. I feel there are at least five racers in the MX1 class who could fight for wins this year and that’s helped keep my motivation levels at a high level as we prepare for what should be a great championship with the Husqvarna Racing Team."

Meanwhile, new Husqvarna Racing Team MX2 signing Dylan Wills has enjoyed a smooth pre-season training regime and will enter 2022 with his eyes firmly set on capturing a maiden championship.

The 26-year-old is the fittest and healthiest he’s felt leading into the racing season, training hard on sand-based tracks in the lead-up to Wonthaggi this weekend. He also recently impressed with five heat wins and second overall at the inaugural MX Invitational in Nowra.

Dylan Wills: "Everything has gone to plan this pre-season and I’ve stayed injury-free, which was my main priority. I’ve finally got my body back to 100 percent and with a great team behind me, I’ve enjoyed a smooth run-up to the upcoming ProMX Championship. I’ve ticked off all of my goals and focused a lot on myself, so now I’m ready to go racing - I’m really looking forward to starting the season strong at Wonthaggi. Even though there are a lot of riders who regularly train and always perform well there, of course, my goal is to start the season on the perfect note with a win. In saying that, if I come away with solid points that I can build a good foundation for my campaign, I’ll be happy with that, too."

Kyle Blunden (KTM Group Australia Motorsport Manager): "It's great to be heading to the races again! We're going into 2022 with two guys who have been part of the Husqvarna Motorcycles family now for quite some time. Todd, who is exceptionally familiar with the team and his FC 450, is looking great and ready to get back to his winning ways, while Dylan joins the team after a privateer season that saw bursts of his potential on his FC 250. The riders have put in the hard yards this off-season testing with MPE Suspension, who have also done a great job. Both riders are coming into the ProMX season very comfortable with their bikes and we can't wait to get the championship started at Wonthaggi."
