Beautifully crafted with a blue anodised titanium body and finished with a carbon fibre end cap, the silencer is considerably lighter than standard, slightly shorter to centralise mass, and delivers a notable boost to overall performance.

The 250 cc 4-stroke engine is also considerably light and tips the scales at just over 26 kg. The FC 250 Factory Edition engine is remarkably powerful with impressive torque to suit riders of all abilities.

Map select switch

The intuitive handlebar-mounted Map Select Switch allows riders to engage both launch and traction control, enable the Quickshifter, and activate one of two engine maps. The easy-to-operate Map Select Switch allows racers to quickly alter the engine characteristics on a race-by-race basis depending on track conditions and their preference.

Mapping

For a personalised power delivery, the FC 250 Factory Edition has two built-in engine maps as standard, which can be selected and engaged via the Map Select Switch. Map 1 (white) offers linear, predictable power while Map 2 (green) is more aggressive for a sharper throttle response and a more explosive power output.

Quickshifter

The Quickshifter function can be activated via the Map Select Switch and works by interrupting the ignition for a fraction of a second for smooth and precise gear changes, even when the throttle is fully open. The Quickshifter is only active from second gear onwards to help avoid accidentally shifting into neutral when moving from first to second gear.

Traction Control

Traction Control on the FC 250 Factory Edition is engaged by pressing the 'TC' button on the Map Select Switch. Analysing throttle input from the rider and the rate at which engine RPM increases, if the RPM increases too quickly, the Engine Management System (EMS) registers a loss of grip and reduces the amount of power to the rear wheel to ensure maximum traction. This is a distinct advantage in wet and slippery conditions.

With the engine at idle, Launch Control is engaged by pressing the Traction Control and Quickshift buttons simultaneously. Both symbols will start flashing to indicate that Launch Control is activated. Designed for race starts, this technology limits the amount of power to the rear wheel, improving traction, and helps to prevent loss of control under hard acceleration. Once a gear change is made, Launch Control deactivates automatically.

Electric start and Li-Ion battery

Keeping overall weight to a minimum and ensuring fast, reliable starting, the Li-Ion 2.0 Ah battery fitted to the FC 250 Factory Edition is approximately 1 kg lighter than a conventional lead battery.
